Rights vs. Privileges

Got me to thinking about PRIVILEGES versus RIGHTS. According to this company, smoking is a privilege. I wonder if they carefully selected that word or considered the difference between it and a right. So by virtue of being a human, you DON’T get to smoke, but by being a citizen of our society, you MAY. And from here, I could go into discussing customs, law, Constitutional declaration, or what inalienable means. All because of a sign attached to a garbage can. This garbage can says, YOU HAVE NO ABSOLUTE ENTITLEMENT TO SMOKING SO PICK UP YOUR BUTTS. And might I add… DON’T THROW THEM OUT YOUR CAR WINDOW EITHER. I wouldn’t mind taking away somebody’s privilege to drive when they litter like that.
